Ever wondered what Tzatziki is?
It’s a fantastic combination of cucumber, Greek yoghurt, garlic , lemon juice, fresh mint and dill with a pinch of seasoning. A staple dip in many Greek households and it’s lovely with pitta, crudites . . . or even to enjoy with your summer kebabs.
Nutritionally great – the yoghurt providing protein, calcium, some fat and great for the gut bacteria too. Cucumbers are low in calories, are great for hydration and a source of antioxidants and fibre. Garlic provides a good amount of selenium, vitamin C and Vitamin B6.
Ingredients
1 cucumber (peeled and grated)
200g Greek yoghurt
1/2 tbsp Fresh Mint (chopped)
1/2 tbsp Fresh Dill (chopped)
2 Cloves of garlic (crushed)
½ lemon juiced
Pinch of sea salt and pepper (optional)
