Liz Earle is known throughout the UK as a wellness expert and a true skincare aficionado
She knows all there is to know about women’s wellbeing, and she has become a self-styled expert about Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).
As she began to experience the negative effects of the menopause, Liz started searching for solutions to her brain fog, mood swings, low mood, and exhaustion. However, she found it hard to find answers to the questions that she was asking.
“I found it baffling that there was so little information available to me and the millions of others who were at a similar stage of life,”
Liz explains. “Advice was muddled, contradictory and very often failed to explain what was happening.” Her frustration led her to write The Good Menopause Guide in 2018, and a 2019 e-guide entitled The Truth About HRT.
For Liz, this is about so much more than one person’s medical story. She says, “I believe it is a fundamental human right for all mid-life women to have access to better hormonal healthcare and information.”
Liz Earle believes that perimenopause needs to be taken more seriously
Perimenopause snuck up on Liz, as she wasn’t expecting it to affect her as much as it did. She was at the peak of her life and success, and was taken aback at how much it impacted her health and overall mental state. “We may feel fabulous and in the peak of good health, only to become aware of niggling troublesome changes, which when pieced together like a jigsaw puzzle suddenly make sense!”
Liz Earle opted for HRT to ease her symptoms
Liz had extreme sleep disturbance, and that sent her to her GP to find help. She believes that HRT is a medical option that should be offered to every woman suffering with the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause.
“As far as I’m concerned, HRT is simply topping up what our body naturally lacks as we age, as our oestrogen levels naturally decline. I now have much better sleep and increased energy levels, so I can do more! The long-term health and wellbeing benefits (in terms of reduced risk of coronary heart disease, osteoporosis and even dementia protection) outweigh the risks for the vast majority of us.”
Liz uses body-identical HRT to allay her symptoms and get back to her busy life as a wife, mother of 5, and successful entrepreneur
Her HRT protocol tops up her hormone levels to get her back into optimal health and wellbeing. It does not build up in the body, and so any user’s hormone levels will revert back to their normal quantities shortly after a user stops taking them.
In addition to her HRT treatment, Liz also follows a menopause diet plan that is rich in phyto-oestrogens that mimic those found in the body. These foods include soya milk, pumpkin seeds, celery, tofu and green beans.
Liz doesn’t believe that the menopausal period in a woman’s life doesn’t have to be looked upon as a negative. Instead, it can be a joyous, productive, and sexy time!
