Merry Christmas and wishing you a wonderful New Year with love from all of us at Emme

Well, no one can say that the last 2020 and 2021 have been average years!

As we celebrate Christmas and bring in the New Year, things are certainly different than they usually are during this time of the year.

The team here at Emme Menopause wanted to take a few moments to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Celebrating the holidays while going through the menopause is certainly not easy. It’s even more challenging with the extra hurdles that 2021 has again thrown our way! As you open gifts and prepare meals, we have some helpful tips and recommendations to get through the stress of the next few days.

Here are five ways to manage stress over the festive season

Keep these helpful tips in mind as you celebrate today and over the next few days

Be honest about your peri menopause or menopausal symptoms

Trying to hide your menopause symptoms will only add to the day’s stress and anxiety. It’s ok to admit your struggles to your friends and family. You may find that they are far more understanding than you think. Of course, Christmas is full of love and laughter, but helping your family understand your needs will give everyone a chance to support you.

Remember that it’s ok that things aren’t perfect

This year of all years, don’t stress about the little things. If you have forgotten a stocking stuffer or losing track of the oven space, it’s ok to throw your hands up in the air and mutter “2021 strikes again!”After all, this year we all have an excuse more than ever when things aren’t perfect.

Get the family involved

If you are celebrating with your spouse and kids, this is the year to get them involved more than ever. They can certainly help with the cooking, cleaning, and wrapping! Don’t get caught up in the trap of perfection – delegate tasks and get help with everything.

Take it easy with alcohol

It can be quite an attractive proposition to drown your sorrows in alcohol, but too much booze and the menopause don’t mix. If you overindulge with the drink, your menopause symptoms are sure to flare up and feel a lot worse.

We want everyone to have the best Christmas break possible

Even if 2021 has been a trying year. Enjoy the Christmas break as much as possible and have a wonderful holiday season. We’re with you every step of the way!
